The Compliance Roadmap: End-to-End Encrypted File Transfer for UK Higher Education
Welcome to the first dedicated Hexiosec Transfer product update.
From now on, we’ll be sharing regular updates on what’s new in Hexiosec Transfer every other month, alternating with Hexiosec ASM, covering the latest features, improvements and changes we’ve been making to the platform.
We’ve introduced two major new ways to securely exchange information with Spaces and Forms, refreshed the Transfer user experience to make it cleaner and easier to navigate, and made it simpler to get support when you need it.
Here’s what’s new.
Not every secure exchange is a one-off.
Many projects involve an ongoing flow of documents between multiple people - whether that’s working with a client, collaborating with external partners or managing information relating to a particular project or case.
With Spaces, you can create a dedicated, end-to-end encrypted workspace for that ongoing exchange.
Authorised users can securely access and share files within the same Space, helping to keep everything relating to a piece of work together rather than scattered across individual transfers and email threads.
Spaces are designed to make ongoing collaboration simpler while maintaining the security principles at the heart of Hexiosec Transfer. They’re particularly useful for scenarios such as casework, client projects and secure data rooms, where information needs to be exchanged over a longer period of time. Guests from outside of your organisation don’t need an account to access content and upload files.
We’ve also introduced Forms, giving you a new way to securely collect structured information and documents.
There are plenty of situations where sending someone a blank document or asking them to reply to an email isn’t the most efficient or secure way to gather information. Client onboarding, due diligence, Know Your Customer (KYC) and Subject Access Requests (SAR) are just a few examples.
With Forms, you can create a structured request, from scratch or from a template, to collect the information and documents you need.
Responses and uploaded documents are protected using the same secure end-to-end encryption that underpins the rest of Hexiosec Transfer, helping you collect sensitive information without compromising on privacy or security.
Forms can help streamline repeatable processes too, giving you a consistent way to request the information you need rather than starting from scratch every time. Your recipients don’t need to sign up for an account - you can send a form to anyone
Alongside the new features, we’ve also given the Hexiosec Transfer user experience a refresh.
The aim was simple: make the product cleaner, simpler and more consistent, so it’s easier to find what you need and get on with what you’re trying to do.
We’ve made changes throughout the application to improve consistency and make the experience feel more intuitive. We’ve also made it easier to access the things you’re most likely to want to check, including your in-flight transfers and recent transfer history.
Even with all the improvements we’ve made to the user experience, sometimes you just want to talk to a human. You can now contact our support team directly from within Hexiosec Transfer.
Whether you have a question, need help with something or want to report an issue, getting in touch with the Hexiosec team is now much more straightforward.
Over the next couple of months we have lots more exciting things planned:
