How do I send a file?

What encryption does Hexiosec Transfer use?

Hexiosec Transfer provides true end-to-end encryption. Files are encrypted on the sender’s device before upload and remain encrypted until they are decrypted by the intended recipient. This is implemented using well-established cryptographic algorithms including AES-256-GCM for encryption, ECDH P-384 for key exchange, and PBKDF2 and HKDF for key derivation. Communications with the service are additionally protected using TLS 1.3.

Does the recipient need an account?

No. They open a secure link, verify themselves, and download. No sign-up, nothing to install.

What are the free tier limits?

20 sends a month and files up to 1GB. Paid tiers go higher, and Enterprise is unlimited.

Can I revoke access after sending?

You can expire the link at any time, and the recipient will no longer be able to download the files.

Is our data stored in the UK?

Yes. UK-hosted by default, not as a paid extra. The compliance page has the specifics.

How is Transfer different from a traditional SFTP/FTP?

SFTP and FTPS are secure protocols for transferring files, but they require technical setup and offer limited visibility or automation. Hexiosec Transfer provides a user-friendly platform with automatic end-to-end encryption, no complex setup, and built-in security policies.

Can I use Hexiosec Transfer from within Outlook?

Yes. The add-in allows you to send files securely from within Microsoft Outlook, without leaving your email client. It integrates seamlessly with your existing workflow.

What’s the difference between Files, Spaces and Forms?

Files are for one-off transfers of files. Spaces are for ongoing collaboration, where multiple people can upload and download to the same space. Forms are for collecting information and files through a secure form, which can be sent to multiple recipients.
