Introduction
Hexiosec Transfer allows you to receive files as well as send them, via our Sharing Request feature. This creates a link you can share with someone, enabling them to securely transfer files back to you using our end-to-end encrypted transfer technology.
Sharing Requests work using Public Key Cryptography to agree a secret encryption key with the recipient of your request link. This ensures your transfers remain private to just you, whilst keeping the experience smooth and low-friction for your customers. Files shared with you are accessible for up to 30 days and only by you.
It’s the same robust security used when you send files with Hexiosec Transfer.
Multi-Use Secure File Sharing Requests
The original version of this feature allowed each Sharing Request link to be used only once, meaning if more than one transfer was expected from your sharing link recipient, you would need to share more than one link. Talking to some customers, especially those in consulting, we saw the need for longer-lasting sharing requests that could work for an entire engagement.
So we’ve made some changes to allow the Sharing Request links to be used more than once, simply by revisiting the same link. Each time the recipient uploads files to a request the system will notify you, and you then have 30 days to download those files.
Once you are finished with a request link, you can archive it to prevent further submissions, or delete it entirely once you have retrieved any files shared with you. You can also set a submission deadline after which no further transfers will be accepted.
Each time it is used, a completely different secret encryption key is generated, ensuring that reusing a link is just as secure as creating a new one.
Any Sharing Requests you create can be managed and updated from within the Hexiosec Transfer application.
