Building a Secure Cloud Infrastructure
Contents
Summary
We designed and built a new cloud infrastructure for a financial services organisation. Integrated with their existing security approach, it allows them to securely use the cloud.
Client need
We work with an investment fund who have a small number of people, but a complex technology requirements. Crucially, they have a low appetite for cyber security risk. This led them to relying on some legacy on-premises applications and services, and being cautious about using the cloud.
What we did
We helped to scope out their initial requirements, and designed and built them a Google Cloud infrastructure to meet them. We started them off with a clear, secure approach to identity, networking and other key features, setting them on the path to secure future usage. We’ve then helped them move some key applications into the cloud, all of which link from a new, internal portal site also built.
We built their new infrastructure to make use of Microsoft 365 Single Sign-On (SSO), to log and alert potential issues, and to feed logs into their SIEM. All of which means their new cloud infrastructure fits into their existing security approach and tools.
Client benefit
They have since been able to decommission legacy on-premises servers, in favour of much smaller cloud costs. And now they rely on it for key applications, and are taking advantage of cutting edge cloud technologies such as big data storage and processing, and AI.
